In the factory’s shipping area, a hammer crusher production line has been loaded onto a flatbed trailer, ready for transport. The equipment features a dark gray finish, with a large red pulley mounted on the side of the main unit. The trailer carries the primary hammer crusher, a multi-deck vibrating screen, and the associated feeding system. On-site personnel are conducting final pre-shipment inspections. The equipment is bound for a crushed-stone processing site in Africa.
In the early stages of development, mining operations in some parts of Africa often face challenges such as long lead times for spare parts and a shortage of on-site maintenance technicians. To address the processing requirements for local medium-hardness stone, the client opted for a hammer-crushing process—a more streamlined configuration that replaces the multi-stage crushing setups typically composed of jaw crushers followed by impact or cone crushers. A technician overseeing the assembly noted, "When establishing a plant in a remote area, reducing the number of primary machines also reduces the potential points of failure. By using a single hammer crusher with a large feed opening, we eliminate the need for an intermediate secondary crushing stage, which simplifies initial civil works and installation." This 150-ton-per-hour production line prioritizes practical, foundational functionality: Single-stage crushing—the hammer crusher is designed for a throughput of 150 tons per hour. Once material enters the crushing chamber, it is subjected to high-speed impacts from the rotor and hammers, achieving size reduction in a single pass. Closed-circuit screening—the large multi-deck vibrating screen, shipped alongside the main unit, handles the classification of the final product. Aggregates that meet the required particle size pass through the screens, while oversized material is returned to the crusher for further processing.
Routine maintenance: The mechanical structure of the equipment is straightforward. Daily maintenance tasks for on-site operators primarily involve periodically rotating or replacing worn hammers, as well as applying grease to the bearing housings connected to the red pulley. The vehicles carrying the equipment have now departed from the factory site. Upon arrival in Africa, the equipment will be installed at the client’s site according to the technical drawings; it will primarily be used to process the basic sand and aggregate materials required for local infrastructure projects.
