Optimizing Hard, Abrasive Rock Crushing: Meishuo HP300 Cone Crusher Packed and Shipped to Mexico
At the Meishuo facility in Zhengzhou, an HP300 multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher is being loaded for shipment. Some Mexican mines primarily process hard, highly abrasive rock, placing high demands on the wear-part lifespan and operational stability of crushers. Local customers had previously observed that certain older cone crushers struggled with hard materials, often suffering from discharge opening misalignment. This issue not only increased the proportion of flaky and elongated particles in the finished product but also resulted in a large volume of oversized material requiring recirculation through the crusher—a common "material return" problem—thereby driving up electricity and wear-part costs per ton of material.
The customer’s decision to acquire the Meishuo HP300 is driven by the core objective of improving aggregate particle shape and effectively controlling the production line's overall operating costs. "When processing hard rock, reducing the recirculation rate means lowering the cost per ton."
During the pre-shipment inspection, the Meishuo site manager noted: "If secondary crushing equipment fails to maximize the output of qualified fines, large volumes of rock circulate repeatedly through the system, leading to substantial electricity costs and wear-part consumption. The design philosophy of the HP300 is to bring material within the ideal particle size range in a single pass—even under high-intensity operating conditions—thereby minimizing unproductive loads across the entire production line."

220kW power supporting "choke feeding": Crushing hard rock requires ample kinetic energy reserves. The 220kW motor delivers robust power, ensuring stable rotational speed even when the crushing chamber is densely packed with material ("choke feeding"). This state promotes "inter-particle crushing" (or "layer crushing"), which boosts efficiency while reducing direct friction between the ore and metal liners, thereby extending the service life of wear parts.
Balancing large feed size with stable output: With a maximum feed size of 265mm, the unit effectively handles coarse material from the primary jaw crusher, minimizing the risk of blockages at the feed opening. It maintains a steady hourly throughput of 220 to 400 tons, ensuring a consistent material flow for downstream screening operations.
25mm minimum discharge setting for optimized aggregate quality: The ability to maintain a stable minimum discharge setting (CSS) of 25mm while processing hard rock was a key factor in the customer's selection of this equipment. This capability effectively controls the upper limit of the discharge size during the crushing stage, resulting in a more balanced aggregate gradation and a more cubical particle shape, ultimately helping the customer increase the yield of high-quality premium aggregates. As workers secure the final wooden bracing and strapping, this HP300 unit is poised to embark on its transoceanic journey. Once installed and operational, the equipment is expected to help the local mine effectively tackle the challenges posed by highly abrasive, hard rock, thereby steadily enhancing the production line's overall efficiency and the market competitiveness of its aggregate products.
